Yes. Coast is a PWA (Progressive Web App) — it works fully offline once installed. Log spends, check your safe-to-spend, view history — all without internet. When you reconnect, your data syncs across devices.

You own it. Forever. You can export all your data as a CSV anytime from Settings → Export Data. If you delete your account, we delete everything within 30 days — no backups, no retention. Your data is never sold, never shared, and never used for ads.

Not yet, but it's coming. Right now Coast is single-user. Shared budgets and household accounts are on the roadmap for Q3 2026. You can both use Coast individually and coordinate manually until then.

Never. Coast makes money from Premium subscriptions, not from your data. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you with third-party analytics. The business model is simple: you pay us, we build you a better product.

YNAB: yes. Mint: partial. Coast can import transaction history from YNAB via CSV export. Mint's export format is messier but we support it — you'll need to clean up categories manually. Import from Settings → Import Data after signup.

Coast reminds you. If you go 24 hours without logging anything, you'll get a gentle notification (if you enable them). Your safe-to-spend number also shows 'last updated X hours ago' so you know when it's stale. Missing one log won't break anything — just catch up when you remember.

Yes — in transit and at rest. All data is encrypted with AES-256 when stored and TLS 1.3 in transit. Your data lives on secure servers (AWS, SOC 2 compliant). We can't read your transaction details even if we wanted to — they're encrypted with your device key.
